Take a nap, maybe

Anyone else just feeling extra exhausted? Wrung out? Like Bilbo says, “butter scraped over too much bread”?

The news, work, friend or family issues, the heat just not abating…I don’t know, it just feels like we could all use a collective vacation, right? To be fair, I’ve just been extra busy in the last week, enough that I didn’t get this newsletter out yesterday morning as I usually do—apologies to those of you who eagerly await 7am on Sundays to open this email!

I hope you’re finding ways to relax and release your stress, ways to rest so your exhaustion eases, ways to take action in this hard world so the pressure becomes less for all of us. Playing a game with friends or family (or with someone you don’t know by putting a green flag on your table!) can offer some of that respite. Inviting someone you haven’t seen in a while out for a drink can bring you both joy. And we’ve got some very relaxing games in our library—Trellis, A Gentle Rain, even Hadrian’s Wall if you find filling in tiny bubbles on a ScanTron sheet relaxing…

My point here is that we are in this together—the worry, the good work, the joy, and the exhaustion.

Play Attack on Titan: The Last Stand!

Based on the beloved anime of the same name, Attack on Titan is an exciting, 3D game of all-against-one! The Board Game Geek listing says this: “[O]ne player takes on the role of a Titan while the others represent the human heroes fighting it. The Titan piece is a vertical game board element that the hero game pieces climb in an effort to take it down. It's all come down to this. Titans have broken through Wall Maria and are heading for the supply depot in Trost. If the depot falls, all the resources needed to continue fighting off these monstrous aberrations will be destroyed and all hope for the last remnants of mankind will be lost. It's up to you and your team to fend off and fell the Titans before they can succeed! Are you ready for the last stand?”

Our friends down the street at Manga Manga gave us this game and two others for our guests to play—when you do, you get a 10% off coupon for Manga Manga!

Try a cocktail from our new menu!

What could be under that white cloth? It’s a new round of signature cocktails, named after beloved games in our library.

Could it be a Gin and Bandido? A Nottingham, a Manhattan made with stolen apple cider? A Jenga shot? Dear Reader, I have absolutely no idea but I’m excited to share the new menu with you soon!

(No RSVP needed for Community Game Night!)

Please forgive the quality of this image as Alice was very sleepy.
The event itself will be much higher quality.

Not a Free Parking event, BUT College Hill neighbors Manga Manga and Household Books are there!
