Old and New
Can you believe it’s our two-year anniversary? Running a restaurant is, famously, hard work y’all, but it’s so rewarding to be in community. And we’re not that old, though some of our games are really showing the wear of age—Hues and Cues, I’m looking at you.
We have a lot of time, experience, hamburgers, and games under our belts. We can reminisce about years (plural!) gone by. But we are also excited about what the future holds—new staff members coming on board, new cocktails and menu items, new games added to the library, new regulars and friends made, new events and ways to connect.
We are always moving from the old to the new, always in a liminal space between things. It’s not always comfortable, that transition, but right now we at Free Parking are delighted. Happy Two-Year Anniversary, friends!

A second trip around the sun!
We’re having a week-long raffle, door prizes and cake on Friday, and brand new anniversary shirts for only $10! (Add on one of last year’s shirts for only $5!) Come hang out with us and celebrate! Click the image above and follow us on Instagram for more information.
Play Mooki Island and The Royal Game of Ur!
Why these two? Mooki Island is one of the newest games in our library and Ur is one of the oldest games humans have created (4000 years ago!). Mooki Island is a charmingly-illustrated 2-player game of collecting sets and trying to remember what those sets are. It’s very easy to pick up for kids and adults, and bonus: it won the 2026 Kids Game of the Year! The Royal Game of Ur was the hot game in Babylon (yes, that Babylon), played by everyone from kings to paupers. It’s essentially faster, meaner Sorry! for two people.
10/10 games, no notes.
