We have some fun new cocktails for the month of June, inspired by the drag performers at our upcoming Drag Brunch on June 22. 10% of the revenue from these cocktail sales will be donated to The Trevor Project—working to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.

It is important to us at Free Parking that our care for and welcome of LGBTQ people is not rainbow-washing but is part of how we exist in the world. Many on our staff are queer, many of our guests have come here on rough personal (or political) days saying, “We just needed to be here tonight.” A recent review said, “The lgbtqa+ friendly vibes are out of this world. Very safe, very friendly.”

When we say this space is meant to be a community space for all people, we mean it. One of our core values is seeking joy in our own experiences and becoming the joy in our guests’. We know this world isn’t all happiness and light, and so we try to bring that into the space we are building for you and into how Free Parking gives back to the world.

Play Lacuna

It’s the 2- player game in the beautiful tube, and the game is just as beautiful!

First, you spread out the gorgeous, cloth board and smooth out the wrinkles. Then you sprinkle 49 flowers across it—literally, the tube has a special opening just for the waterfall of lovely, wooden bits. And then the challenge begins. Players place their heavy, metal tokens on the board between flowers to take them and to claim territory. The winner has a “majority of majorities” meaning, whoever has the majority of a color wins that color, whoever has the majority of those wins, wins the game. If that sounds complicated, it’s not, but it is weird. Lacuna plays in 20 minutes or so, short enough to play several rounds but also deep enough that you’ll want to.

Try our new cocktail Chimera’s Elixir

Butterfly pea flower infused vodka, lemon juice, strawberry simple syrup, and a dash of Sprite combine to create our color-changing cocktail. She’s inspired by one of the drag performers Kiara Chimera who will be with us for Drag Brunch on June 22!
